Searcys – The Gherkin

A few weeks back I was invited to a whiskey tasting event in Searcys at the Gherkin in central London. Gaining access to the Gherkin was interesting to say the least. You have to go through airport security type machines and your bags are scanned too. Once cleared to enter I had to use one lift to go to the 24th floor and then change to the private members lift. It’s such a beautiful building inside and out. It was such a treat to be able to go there and have a night of fun.

The evening was hosted by Chivas whiskey which comes from a distillery in the Strathisla which is in the Scottish Highlands.  We had a lovely girl named Lauren who came to talk us through the whole whiskey process and the history of the Chivas brand. She was so passionate about the company and knew the answer to the questions thrown at her by the crowd!  I may be Scottish but I am so not a big fan of whiskey.  I did sample each whiskey and it was interesting to find different flavours and scents in each one.

When we arrived we were given old fashioned cocktails made with Chivas whiskey.  Below are some pics from the evening and the view from the Gherkin.

Hope you enjoyed 🙂 let me know if you have been to the Gherkin or tried out Chivas whiskey.

Thanks
