Edinburgh Zoo

Back in June I went home to Scotland to visit my lovely family for a week. It was my birthday and we decided a trip to Edinburgh Zoo would be a lovely day out.  It had been a long time since we had been to the Zoo as a family but at 29 I was as excited as a 5 year old!

Naturally it was a pretty grey and miserable day weather wise but this did not stop us. We ensured we saw each and every animal possible! Below are a few snaps that I took on the way around the zoo.

The most amazing part of our visit was seeing the Giant Pandas, or should I say, panda.  The male panda, Yang Guang, was in his bedroom munching on bamboo when we arrived for our time slot. He was magnificent! Sadly we didn’t get to see Tian Tian as she was in her quiet room with hopes that she was pregnant but as yet there have been no announcements from the Zoo. A baby panda would be the ultimate cutie!

Pandas have been an obsession of mine since I was a little girl so it was pretty special to finally see one in real life.  The below picture is of me with my panda collection, it was insane!

Ideally I would love to see pandas in the wild so I can always hope that can happen one day.

Have you been to Edinburgh Zoo? Let me know below 🙂

  1. I love Zoo Days (yes I have annual days that I dedicate to the Zoo) – Great post! I’ve been in Edinburgh before but never to the zoo – I’m adding it to the wish list
