It is finally back, the long awaited return of Real Housewives of New Jersey and Teresa Guidice. Time has flown by since that infamous season 6 reunion scene where Teresa basically says her goodbyes to the RHONJ viewers before embarking on her new adventure, into prison. This was one of those twists that I didn’t expect to see on a reality TV show I watched. At times I felt like it was glamorising the prison sentencing but at other times I think maybe this was done to protect Teresa. It’s safe to say that someone wanted to ensure Teresa had a safety net after prison.
So now into its 7th season it kicks off on the run up to Christmas with everyone preparing and discussing the return of Teresa. She was sentenced to 15 months in prison but released after 11 for good behaviour. Underneath all of the makeup and drama it is clear that Teresa will do anything for her girls. As the money from her business has dried up, Teresa needs to do what she can to bring it back. Exclusive photos for magazines, a tell all book and of course RHONJ. She has to hustle no more than ever but this concerns me. Will the storylines of drama with the other girls be more superficial than before? More on that to follow.
I won’t lie, I shed a tear when Teresa hugged her little girlies when she returned home. It is filmed like she has just walked in the door after 11 months to her loving family…and a film crew. Fingers crossed this wasn’t the actual reunion.
The cynic in me wasn’t sure if Joe and Teresa would make it through her prison sentence. Yes she should have read what she was signing but she trusted her husband so the fault lies heavily with him. But they are still together, at the moment, as he services his 41 month prison sentence.
Onto the other ladies. I have to admit I was very glad that Amber and the twins were not coming back this season! Something didn’t click, I think I found them too fake sadly. The new girls, Dolores and Siggy, seem like a wild and funny pair. Siggy in the first episode braves the cameras post face lift. She is ballsy!
Back again this year is Jacqueline with her lovely family. Who’s heart doesn’t melt when they see little Nicholas?! He is incredible. Seeing him develop despite autism brings a humble side to the narcissistic world of the housewives. Jac and Chris have been open from the season premiere about their financial situation after a bad business decision. This also concerns me that the drama will be false to get air time and then turn bring in the cash. I hope I am wrong!
The Gorga’s are back of course and the tables have turned. Melissa has bought a shop and is making it into a boutique. Not sure how this will pan out as she should be at home cooking for her husband of course! Silly Joey.
So I am pretty excited to see how this season pans out as I am a huge fan. Let me know how you feel about this season in the comments. I am looking forward to posting more Housewives related posts 🙂
Thanks for reading,
Kirsty 🙂 xx
