Pokemon Go fever has hit the UK and it’s all we can talk about. I was one of the naughty people who downloaded pre UK release so I had a little head start. Currently I am on level 9 and growing my squad! Today is a bad day however as the servers have gone down. Lots of panic on social media which also made the news of people being unable to find Pokemon. Yes, I am fully aware of the horrendous problems going on in the world but this is why we need an escape from reality. Also, there is no age range for this game! All generations can play and have fun. The start up screen gets me excited 🙂 but as it states, you do have to be careful. I almost walked into a lamppost!
This game is not only a nostalgic fun time but it is getting people outdoors and breathing in some fresh air. I remember when Candy Crush came out and everyone was hooked. That game didn’t rely on you going to green areas and walking a specific distance to hatch an egg. Pokemon Go does! I am currently waiting on two little babies to hatch. Hoping there is a Pikachu in one, he may be one of my favourites.
Pokemon the TV series was released in 1999 for UK viewers. I was around 12 year old so this was my life source! My favourite thing to do was draw the Pokemon and colour them in. Sounds slightly lame but I could’t get enough of it. Pikachu and Jigglypuff featured heavily in my masterpieces. Pokemon The Movie came out in 2000 and the hype grew! Remember the soundtrack? Spice Girls, Billie Piper, NSYNC and many more. Brilliant memories.
My favourite “person”character was Misty, she was so feisty and had the cutest Pokemon, Togepi. Was anyone else sad when she released Togetic? I think there will be a few more Misty cosplay characters at conventions from now on thanks to the revival. She is pretty awesome!
Below are a few of my Pokemon at the moment, I can’t wait to get them higher CP, and my character when I was at Level 6 but as servers are down I can’t get an updated picture.
Last night I was hanging around my local library to find more Pokemon which had a lure module. There were lots of people there ready to catch more. It was good to actually be out on a Friday night instead of being in my bed by 9pm! While I am catching more Pokemon I do feel the below picture of Ash captures how I feel as I flick the Pokeballs.
Are you also playing Pokemon Go?! Let me know how you are doing in the comments below.
